The Streets of Barangaroo, Sydney.

In 2018 Authority Creative was engaged by Lendlease with the brief of enhancing a 100 metre construction site hoarding and resulting pedestrian tunnel.

This mammoth wall was located along Scotch Row in Barangaroo, Sydney.

I was one of 5 artists selected for the project and was allocated a 15x2.4m* section of wall directly opposite Guardian Childcare centre.

*plus 15mx1.2m ceiling panels, painted on the ground and hand installed 🔨

Our brief was simple, create an artwork inspired by and reflective of the business directly opposite our canvas.

Utilising branding elements of Guardian Childcare and exploring the themes of joy, play and happiness. I experimented with a number of designs and colour pallets before settling on my final design.

The 3-5 y.o class from Guardian came down to lend a hand on the final days. Together we mixed paint, brush/finger painted the wall andddd almost every piece of clothing in a 10m radius. The help was greatly appreciated and we got the mural done in time.

Over the week-long installation, it was amazing to see the bustling city laneway come to life. Thousands of people flocked past the wall each day on their way too and from work (and for schnacks) with nothing but nice things to say about what they saw unfolding.

Each artist delivered their vision and it was a pleasure installing alongside Alex Le Hours, Bartolomeo Celestino, Shannon Vos and the Authority team.

After the project, we gifted the students these colouring in pages.
